The demand for a console which is light weight, seat rail mounted, and that can be cockpit integrated providing special guidance is growing. The benefits of high integration – having one console for multiple missions –is clear. Sundt Aviation can offer to be main contractor in Turnkey Special Mission Aircraft projects. We offer to purchase the aircraft, integrate the special mission equipment to our console and deliver a certified package including training and support. The IFIS 2004 was a great success for Sundt Aviation. The UNIFIS 3000 Navaids Flight Inspection Systems was displayed and demonstrated to the FIS world.
One of our aircrafts, a Beechcraft King Air 200 was present at the static display, with the UNIFIS 3000 installed. The technical solutions on board the UNIFIS 3000 was commented by many as to be the “trendsetting technology for Airborne Mission Equipment”. Due to its unique construction, the light weight composite console not only saves fuel by its weight, but it also provides more space per occupied seat for mission avionics and equipment. The need for higher integration towards cockpit avionics called the need for using certifiable Real Time Operating System (RTOS) and hardware. UNIFIS 3000 is equipped with the latest, including WindRiver VxWorks - RTOS and 6U Compact PCI RT hardware platform.
